Revitalising a Sun Jar and the Joule Thief Revisited

Aside: In what follows I use Circuit Wizard to design the PCB and a Roland Modela mdx-20 to route it out. These are what I happen to have to hand at the moment and am very familiar with. The work path, which goes from Circuit Wizard via Techsoft’s 2D PCB software to drive the Modela, is reasonably straightforward. Linked to this article are the Circuit Wizard file I created and also the resulting Gerber files. As you can see from Figure 3, the circuit is pretty straightforward and can be quickly created in your favourite electronics design package.
